Specialty Care Unit (SCT)

Scott & White EMS SCT units are equipped with state-of-the-art technologies and are staffed with a Critical Care Paramedic.  The SCT unit is the unit of choice when transporting the critically ill or injured patient.  It is equipped with ventilator, a three channel IV medication pump, CPAP, EtCO2 monitoring, 12 lead ECG and advanced protocols for the management of critical ill patients.

Advanced Life Support (ALS)

Scott & White EMS ALS units are staffed with a paramedic and an EMT.  ALS paramedics can perform manual defibrillation, synchronized cardioversion, transcutaneous pacing, cardiac monitoring and interpretation, including 12-lead ECG. Paramedics can execute a host of advanced procedures in the field that include advanced airway management, peripheral intravenous (IV) cannulation, intraosseous needle placement, advance pharmacology and IV pump management.

Basic Life Support (BLS)

Scott & White EMS BLS units are staffed by two basic emergency medical technicians who can perform basic airway management, including suctioning and oxygen delivery and they are equipped with an automated external defibrillator (AED).  BLS units are utilized for the basic medical transportation of stabilized patients.

Wheelchair Van Service

Scott & White EMS provides a wheelchair van service.  Each van is equipped to carry only one wheelchair bound patient at a time.  The service is offered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Each driver is certified in basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the van are equipped with a first aid box and (AED).

Medical Communications Center

Scott & White EMS ambulance crews are dispatched using a state-of-the-art communications center, which utilizes Zoll RescueNet dispatching software.  This software allows our highly trained Emergency Medical Dispatchers to easily assign the closest most appropriate vehicle by utilizing our candidate ranking system.

SWEMS dispatcher are trained and certified by the National Academy of Emergency Medical Dispatch, this is a nationally recognized course of study.  The dispatchers are also trained in customer service, system resource management and utilization of the NAEMD protocols.

Event Standby Services

Scott & White EMS is able to provide medical stand-by coverage or public service appearances for your special event, staffed at any level of service that we offer.  Our ambulances are especially popular at community events as our staff is pleased to offer tours to attendees.  These tours are an opportunity to educate the public on the equipment used by and various roles of emergency medical personnel.
